Welcome 2021 and Reflecting Back On 2020

Welcome 2021 and Reflecting Back On 2020  For all of us, 2020 will be an unforgettable year. This year, COVID happened. The virus originated in Wuhan and, (somehow) made its way to the whole world. We all wore masks to survive. I, for one, stayed home for at least six months. Today is the 3rd of January, 2021 and I am very happy because of the new year. This is because, as it is rightly quoted, " The New Year stands before us, like a chapter waiting to be written." and also because it brings new hope to the world. People are hoping that COVID will finally end in 2021 so that it will be a better year. With all the good news surrounding 2021, including the new vaccines, it really brings joy and hope to the world. In self isolation, all we could do was stay at our homes and hope that COVID ends. We felt like we had no purpose. But then when people started working from home, they felt that they were doing something, not just sitting at home and hoping for the best. They made a di

Cubing - My New Hobby

Cubing - My New Hobby  About a month or 2 ago, I found my Rubik's Cube laying around. At that time, I had forgotten how to solve it. I searched online and found a YouTube video which properly explained it all. I started solving it repeatedly to remember the process. After some days, I started timing my solves. I also watched YouTube videos on how to get faster and one of the key concepts was practice. So, I started practicing everyday and eventually got faster. When I started out, I could solve it in about 2 minutes. Within a week or so I improved my times to about one and a half minute. I was very happy when I got my first solve which was under a minute. After that, I found out that there was and advanced method to solve the cube called CFOP . I started using the method and for a week, my times remained the same. But after some time, I could get almost all my solves in about 40 to 50 seconds. I started practicing more and searched how to get faster. I started using the concepts an

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban | Book Review

Image
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Harry Potter is one of the best book series I have ever read. The book that I am going to write about, is the third book in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is the only book which does not feature Lord Voldemort. But don't leave this book out because of that. It is quite interesting and amazing. The book is featuring Sirius Black, who brings a twist in the series. If you start reading the book, you will say that things will happen a certain way. But when you reach the end, you are just surprised about how the story ended. Believe me, it is a must-read. The whole Harry Potter series is just amazing. You have to read all the books. When you start reading one of the books you can't stop reading the book until it is finished. You'll just read and read. But the books are a little bit long, so be sure to allot plenty of time to reading the book. Back to the book we are talking about, the Prisoner of Azkaban might be

Coding comprises of different types of languages that have different syntax (rules), difficulty, and uses. Some of the languages you may have heard of are Python, JavaScript and C. When I was young, I always wondered where mobile applications came from. Then, I learnt last year that they were made with coding. But I did not know the meaning of the word coding. A month or two ago, I came across a programming course on https://www.edx.org   by Harvard. It required no prior programming experience, so I thought that there was no harm in trying it out. I started the

NBA Update

Image
76ers vs Lakers Well, I will not be able to tell you about every NBA match happening out there, but I will be able to tell you about most matches played by the top 2 teams of the league. The superstar duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James had another full night of doing things that blow people's minds. Against an undermanned but lively Sixers lineup, Los Angeles needed most of that magic to win again. Davis scored 18 of his 37 points during a phenomenal second-quarter surge, and the team from the western conference held off injury-depleted Philadelphia 120-107 on Tuesday night. James had 22 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds for the Lakers, who moved to 47-13 with their ninth win in 10 games. His 40-footer was a stylish flourish on an entertaining all-around game from the Lakers' two All-Stars, and it came at the end of a 44-10 run in roughly 10 minutes spanning halftime. James and Davis had to carry them past the Sixers, who played without injured starters
