Welcome 2021 and Reflecting Back On 2020  For all of us, 2020 will be an unforgettable year. This year, COVID happened. The virus originated in Wuhan and, (somehow) made its way to the whole world. We all wore masks to survive. I, for one, stayed home for at least six months. Today is the 3rd of January, 2021 and I am very happy because of the new year. This is because, as it is rightly quoted, " The New Year stands before us, like a chapter waiting to be written." and also because it brings new hope to the world. People are hoping that COVID will finally end in 2021 so that it will be a better year. With all the good news surrounding 2021, including the new vaccines, it really brings joy and hope to the world. In self isolation, all we could do was stay at our homes and hope that COVID ends. Bored at home? The things listed below are the best things to do at home(mainly for kids) Well, there are other things to do, but some of them require things you may not have at home, some are too difficult to do. So, the things listed below are handpicked and are just perfect for everyone.

1.  Improve or learn a new language.

Learn

Languages are the most interesting things to learn, especially the ones which you don't know. But improving a certain language can be interesting as well. Indians are not that fluent in English compared to Americans and Britishers, but practicing to speak English will make you more fluent in English. There will never be a better time to improve your English than now. Spanish and French are the best and easiest languages to learn, but the rest is your choice. There are some free courses online. 2. Learn a martial art...

Learning a martial art can be a long process. But the basics of a martial art can be learnt in around 2-3 weeks. It is a great option and helps in self defense.The best martial art  for self defense is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It makes the person give up without hurting him/her. The easiest martial arts are Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo. They do not require any equipment. There are some amazing follow-along courses on the web. Once the lockdown is over, you can join an academy and enhance your skills.

3.Cook delicious dishes and cakes

Open YouTube and find recipes of cakes, cookies and other delicious stuff. There are some channels on YouTube which have the best recipes. Don't give up if some things don't turn out good, just keep trying. Just open YouTube, search " Best chocolate cake recipes ". There will be some recipes which will turn out good and some that won't. But some will turn out very delicious and you will rely on those recipes the next time you make a chocolate cake.

4. Learn a musical instrument


As Plato said, " Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." If you want to learn a musical instrument, what better time than now. The easiest musical instruments are Guitar, Flute, Keyboard(Piano).

5. Do Yoga and other exercises

Yoga is the best way to clear your mind and not think about COVID-19. Yoga gives peace to the mind. It also helps in curing some diseases and helps you to calm down. Some other exercises also help develop strength. Some easy exercises are Russian Twist, V-Sit, and T stabilization. They help develop basic core strength.
